The C97JR and # C96NR are virtually identical. The only difference is that the # C96NR has a slightly updated design which allows it to fit other Grand Cherokee models. It has also completely replaced the C97JR so that hitch is now obsolete.

Hey Steven, you will still need to track down the reverse light circuit on your vehicle for the reverse light circuit of the 7-way adapter like the part # 37185.
